Item 2021-31: Faculty Caregiving
Following discussion at January 2021 Faculty Senate meeting, a resolution was submitted by Anna Pegler-Gordon for the February 16, 2021 Faculty Senate meeting. The motion passed. Andaluna Borcila and Suzanne Lang met on February 24, 2021 to discuss implementation. AcadGov will continue to monitor progress. Silvestri sent follow-up email to Lang, Byelich, and Haas on March 22, 2021. At the April 6, 2021 Steering Committee meeting, President Stanley indicated that university-level action is unlikely due to a lack of funds, but the university is advocating for the federal government to allocate more money to address this issue. Following the June 15, 2021 Faculty Senate meeting, Silvestri will send email to University Council seeking more information about caregiving efforts. The Faculty Senate held a brainstorming session at the 2/15/22 Faculty Senate Meeting.
