Silvestri emailed Theresa Kelley from General Counsel on January 29, 2021 asking what is necessary to implement the policy officially. Pegler-Gordon informed Silvestri that AHR is taking point on implementation. On March 1, 2021, Academic Human Resources's Kathy Lewless told Silvestri she is "reviewing and assessing whether any changes/updates are needed and developing an implementation plan for Provost review and approval. As part of this process, we will put a communication plan together to ensure that the new policy is communicated across campus." Lewless "hope[s] to have this process completed in the coming weeks."

UCFA considered the policy on March 9, 2021 and gave feedback.

The policy was issued by Provost Woodruff on June 1, 2021.
