Item 2021-33: Status of EVPHS in Bylaws
Following referral from the Steering Committee, UCAG did not feel it had enough information about the EVPHS's role to amend the Bylaws for Academic Governance to accommodate the position. On October 8, 2020, UCAG sent a letter to the President requesting more information.
A response was received and discussed at the November 12, 2020 UCAG meeting. The Provost met with UCAG on March 11, 2021 and will work to develop a memorandum of understanding outlining how UCAG will proceed on this issue.
At UCAG's April 21, 2022 meeting, the committee approved an amendment to the Bylaws for Academic Governance that would add the executive vice president for health sciences to the Steering Committee as a voting member and to the Faculty Senate as a non-voting member.
