Item 2021-43: Change in Title from "Associate Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Graduate School" to "Associate Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and Dean of the Graduate School"

On March 24, 2021, Provost Woodruff sent the University Committee on Academic Governance a letter asking for input on potentially changing the title of "Associate Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Graduate School" to "Associate Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and Dean of the Graduate School." The letter indicated the change was motivated by the recent creation of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.

UCAG discussed the matter at its April 8, 2021 meeting. No members objected to the proposed title, and the committee agreed by consent that no amendments to the Bylaws for Academic Governance would be necessary since the Bylaws exclusively refer to the "Dean of the Graduate School" half of the title.
